Amateur Sports and Children's Events


Entry fees for races and tug-o-war events are included in paid admission to the games.

All participants are required to sign a waiver before entering any athletic event.
Participants under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver.

Adult waivers can be obtained at the Secretary's Tent.
Children's waivers can be obtained at the Secretary's Tent or at the Children's Tent.

Trophies, medals or other prizes will be awarded to winners of events, ages 5 and up.

Adult Amateur Athletics (Ages 15+)

Adult Amateur Caber Toss - $5 entry fee
The signature event of the Highland Games, an 18-20' log is tossed in a 12 o'clock flip.
The Round Hill Highland Games are the only Games that encourage amateurs to try their hand at this traditional, exclusively-Scottish sporting event!

Guid Willie's Welcome Home (Lasses only)
Toss a rolling pin at Guid Willie, who drank a wee bit too much usquebaugh with Rabbie Burns

Dash to Dundee (50 yard run)
Races grouped by ages for boys and girls: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14
Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place

Bannockburn Clog Race (1 Adult + 1 Child)
One adult, one child per set of clogs
Child straps in front, Adult straps in back
Medals awarded for 1st & 2nd place
Prizes awarded to all participants
